Zyrtec Drug Uses: Zyrtec is used by people who suffer from allergic symptoms such as sneezing, itchy nose (allergic rhinitis) and itchy eyes. Zyrtec also has been used to treat hives.
How to Use Zyrtec: Zyrtec should be taken at doses specifically directed by a physician. Zyrtec can be taken with food.
Zyrtec Drug Interactions: Zyrtec should be taken only in doses prescribed. Increasing the dose can be dangerous. When taking cetirizine with theophylline the dose of theophylline may need to be reduced. Cetirizine occasionally can cause sleepiness . Cetirizine can be taken with erythromycin or ketaconazole without the increased risk of heart irregularities common to other non-sedating antihistamines. Zyrtec also can be used to treat children.
Zyrtec Possible Side Effects: Sleepiness occurs in 14% of patients. Dry mouth, nausea, headache, fatigue, jitteriness and sore throat are infrequently reported with Zyrtec.
Zyrtec Overdose: Seek emergency medical attention immediately if an overdose is suspected. Symptoms of Zyrtec overdose include: dry mouth, nausea, headache, fatigue, jitteriness.
Zyrtec Storage: Store Zyrtec at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. Avoid excessive heat. Avoid freezing. Keep out of the reach of children. Dispense of this medicine in a tight, light-resistant container. Do not store Zyrtec in the bathroom.
Zyrtec Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
